What I have come to know from the talk of Director (HR) IFFCO that now a days HR functions are not limited to its routine work like some welfare,motivational and administrative activities for the employees as it has been in practice since year back , rather it has now enlarged its ambit and now it is being aligned with the business business of the organisation and doing so it has now reached to the Board of the company.
Now competency of HR managers assessed through Relationship,Communication skill,language skill, competent to Global and Cultural Effectiveness,critical evaluation and its contribution to the business of the organisation, When we talk about global culture that means now a days organisations require such employees who may come in contact with different countries of the world for the business purpose. HR should know the different type of custom and culture of different countries e.g. how to shake hand, how to welcome,how to say goodbye,how to present oneself so that it may assist new recruitees who may be sent to abroad for the business of the organisation.
Professional integrity is necessary and that is on top requirement for a particular field.For fulfiling the high ambition study is must.Change is goo and it always take place for the progress, Today people communicate electronically through face book,twiter etc. by which Your evaluation is also being done .
India is one of such countries where large number of young force persists. We have to develop the talent. HR should look beyond the Organisation and look into the society. While serving your organisation, what contribution of yours will be for the society.Today there is CSR concept i.e. Corporate Social Responsibility. Need felt to develop the mediocre .HR have to have strategy not for the best but for the most appropriate talent. Today's leadership requirement is for being innovative and visionary,influencive,value based who establish the culture, able to anticipate unseen and what is obvious that not to be ignored. Due to being innovative and being visionary today some of companies like Apple,Google,Pantaloon, software industries etc.have made themselves different.
Your strategy(over all your plan,milestone to achieve) works through Organisation's Strategies,Environment, Characterstic,Capabilities which help to define a vision,communicate the vision,establish core competence,develop leadership and thereby develop and motivate your human resource.Become a role model with your value based behaviour.In this context HR Professor from IIM talk about Indian Ethical concept of ' Dhriti i.e. patience, 'Kshma' i.e. forgiveness, 'Dum' i.e. control over desire, 'Astaya' i.e. not to steal and 'Shauch' i.e. physical and spiritual cleanliness.
Another HR professor speaks why people become attracted to a particular Employer Brand. The culture and system and character of the organisation establish a particular Brand for the organisation, which may or may not attract employee to work within. It also cover Interest value,social value,economic value,developmental value and application value of the organisation. Similarly there is vicious cycle also which effect the organisation e.g. weak team spirit - low enthusiasm-low productivity-low profit etc.etc. HR managers have a vital role to establish a particular Employer Brand.
Another retired dignitary from the HR fraternity talks to stimulate HR people to global standard to be a global manager.According to him one should respectful to the individual irrespective of his role, should be concerned for people, to be punctual, posses leadership quality which does not demand any diploma,degree. One should have final accountability for the outcome of the assignment. There should be ethical conduct i.e. value based,truthfulness, reliability, not to please boss for some favour rather he should have professional attitude for the interest of the organisation.
In her valedictory address one eminent guest who is an industrialist and MP also, says, Today HR runs the business of the organisation by recruiting appropriate person for appropriate job. Here HR 's role is match maker. HR nurtures new recruitees as per the requirement of the organisation. It is HR to attract the people to come in the organisation.
One important thing they have stressed tobe remembered - To make the world better make yourself better. Make a better person that will make the world better
So some of the points emerges from the Seminar have been placed before you. It is not only for HR rather it may apply every body who has a leadership quality so what which stream he belongs to.
